Based on the values of children’s rights |
||
|---|---|---|
The activities, led by the Dynamix team, are based on the values of children’s rights and co-operation using active participation methods. These were used during the two days of creating the business plan. They were introduced the day prior to this in a training session with teachers from Langdon Park School and other schools in the Borough as well as a school from Dover, Archers Court. Many of the methods are featured in the book ‘Participation – Spice it up!’ written by Dynamix and published by Save the Children. |

| Jigsaw Activity | ||
To get your instructions you have to find the people with the same coloured paper as you. You put them together, read and carry out the task as a group. Read more |

| A game of tangle | ||
A group forms a circle and puts hands on top of each other, at random, then they join hands starting from the top. This causes a tangle that must be untied! The thinking and discussing activities are punctuated by active games that illustrate such principles as the need for co-operation and fun as a motivator! As well as ensuring movement, keeping blood flowing to the brain and allowing for different styles of learning! |

| feedback activities | ||
Throughout the training different feedback activities are used. The final one is that of using a target drawn on a sheet with different sections (eg Was it fun? Did you learn much? Did you work well together?…). You have a coloured dot for each section which you place on the target, at the centre if it was positive, at the edges for negative feedback. A very quick way of recording responses at the end of an active day! |
