A conference of 30 young people was held at the National Maritime Museum on the launch of the new Department for International Development, which had taken place on the Monday. The young people met and interviewed the Minister Michael Foster MP; discussed and represented small groups on issues of justice and development; presented their views on the priorities of different areas of the White Paper and making statements on what was important to them and why. They also met with DfID young reporters who interviewed them for their blogs. The event was organised by Local4global in partnership with DfID, London Grid for Learning and Heart of London City Learning Centre. The conference was video streamed live to four London schools, who used a dscussion forum on Fronter to submit questions and comments to Michael Foster MP. This was the first time this combination of technologies was used. Click here for the Young DfID Reporters interview of the Minister, Michael Foster MP.
