Issue

Linked with the issue of hierarchy/status is the prevalence of Bangladeshi (normally women) staff as teacher assistants or support staff. Many people have indicated the values that would be gained from having more Bangladeshi men and women as full classroom teachers and as soon as possible in positions of senior management/headships.

Recommendations

Publicise within schools the existing good practice with regard to LBTH recruitment of people from the community. Discussions and debates with regard to the issues with and between all ethnic groups.
