Introduction |
|---|---|
|
In response to reports of rising racial tension in some urban areas, the Holocaust Educational Trust has extended its successful Outreach Programme through a pilot inner-city project designed to fit with the new Citizenship Curriculum. We are committed to teaching the history of the Holocaust and by so doing to learn lessons for today about racism, prejudice and discrimination. Working in secondary schools in Tower Hamlets, we are offering a sustained programme, suitable for students from Year 9 to Year 13, that is adapted to the needs of each institution. We adopt a cross-curricular approach to the topic with a strong emphasis on Citizenship concepts and values. Our staff delivers the programme in conjunction with teachers at your school. All resources are provided by the HET after thorough consultation with your staff. There is no charge for this service except to cover the travel expenses for a Holocaust survivor to visit your school.
