Schools often reflect the neighbourhood, although a few schools (one especially) have managed to create an oasis of calm within a sea of troubles (to blatantly mix metaphors). Some staff and pupils referred to areas they won’t go out of fear.

Develop the existing good practice of joint partnerships which involved members of the local community in discussions and action plans, so that all share both ownership and responsibility for ensuring a safe and secure community. Joint partnership work with existing projects such as community safety projects etc.
