Three Part Time Jobs for 18-25 Year Olds at Kingsley Hall

Visit Kingsley Hall website and apply immediately for three jobs: a director, a networker and an editor. They are part-time, for twenty days, to work on a project creating a Bromley-by-Bow Cultural Train.

Young people wanted by UNICEF as Advisors

UNICEF are looking to recruit Article 12 advisers, young people under the age of 18 who can be activists in promoting children's voice and the right for young people to take part in decisions about their lives.

In this voluntary role, you will influence and negotiate with many different people, from the top of organisations to young people on the streets. We are looking to sign up four Article 12 Advisors, supporting UNICEF with an exciting new programme pushing child rights across the UK.

To succeed, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to child rights and have the ability to speak to adults and other young people.

You must be under 18 on 31 August 2009, commit to this role for at least 12 months and be able to travel to London for meetings and training.

Opportunity for 13-19 year olds to shadow a Minister
17/6/2009

The Ministerial Shadowing Programme will provide disadvantaged or under-represented young people with the opportunity to shadow a Minister for the day. They will be able to sit in on various important meetings and events, question the Minister on their role and responsibilities and see how they engage with and are supported by their teams. We will work to ensure that the young person’s involvement is featured positively in the local press.  All travel and refreshment costs will be covered as part of the programme.

    Tower Hamlets Schools Linking Project

    The Schools Linking Project links schools that have contrasting demographics or locations with one another to promote active citizenship and community cohesion. The Linking Project began in Bradford in 2001. In 2006 the Linking Project was piloted in Tower Hamlets with five pairs of primary schools and is now in its second year. The Linking Project is being rolled out to 30 other local authorities around the country with funding from the DCSF 2008-9.

     

    We are looking for 8 more Tower Hamlets primary schools and 2 secondary schools to join the project from September 2008 so if your school is interested in getting involved or would like more information please contact Sophie Mackay on 0207 364 6405 or by email on sophie.mackay@towerhamlets.gov.uk
