Events on Business for Fairtrade Fortnight

Two great events are taking place at the Museum of London Docklands, Tower Hamlets during Fairtrade Fortnight.

Opening the Fortnight on Monday 23 February from 10-2pm is a training conference for KS2 teachers and their students, exploring Business and Enterprise for Primary Schools. There is a Fairtrade grower from Divine Cholocate, and a group of business people that the children will interview, as well as do activities to look at how business is making communities better places to live, around the world.

On Thursday 5 March 2009 from 10.00 am -2.00 pm a Conference: Using business & enterprise to engage with young people. For flyer click on image.

How business models can capture the interest and motivation of young people to improve their own communities and those around the world. The business models will include social enterprises, co-operatives, community businesses, alongside multi-nationals, UK based businesses, small firms, partnerships etc, with strong corporate social responsibility agendas.

The new National Curriculum and Every Child Matters empower young people to see themselves as agents of change, locally and globally. How can business and enterprise deliver this agenda? We will showcase studies from business, schools and communities, along with a tool box of activities that can be fitted into enterprise delivery programmes.
