Get Involved

Each year the Humanities Education Centre (HEC) offers volunteer and training placements. Volunteering is a fantastic way to improve your skills and an excellent way to make a difference.

Donating your time is a great way to support HEC’s work, and every hour you spare will go towards your professional development for future employability.

By volunteering at HEC, you will;

• become part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team
• work in a friendly and fun environment
• meet new people
• gain IT, administrative, communication and numeracy skills
• explore the opportunity to improve your own learning and performance
• develop multimedia skills such as web designing using Dreamweaver, photo editing using Photoshop and video editing using our range of Apple Mac software
• work with our internal marketing and customer service team
• working with young people and schools
• know that your time is helping to promote the global dimension in the classroom
• use your presentation and delivery skills to maximise development issues
• understanding of equal opportunities
• travel and lunch reimbursement
