Equality Impact Assessment 2006-2007 summary

The CYPP is an important element of the reforms underpinned by the Children Act 2004. On the basis of a new statutory duty all areas are required to produce a single, strategic, overarching plan for all services affecting children and young people. The CYPP supports more integrated and effective services to secure better outcomes for children.

Tower Hamlets Community Plan
The Community Plan explains how we will improve the quality of life in Tower Hamlets over the next decade or so in a whole range of areas – from education for our children and young people to support and care for some of the oldest and most vulnerable people.

Strategic Plan 2008-09 Summary
The Strategic Plan represents the council’s contribution to delivering the borough-wide Community Plan, agreed by the Tower Hamlets Partnership. Both plans set out how we will continue to work together to improve the quality of life for people living and working in the borough.

A new Forward Plan is produced every month with any outstanding matters contained in previous plans included in the latest one. The borough has been divided into eight Local Area Partnership areas (LAPs) based on local wards. Each one of the LAPs provide a platform for local residents to have their say on the improvements in their area, and to influence how the changes are carried out.
