School Council

You can create a school council constitution by getting your whole school to discuss its school council, its aims, structure and functioning and then voting on them. This is great training for the councillors and involves everyone in learning about the school council and the role of their voice. If done referencing or using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child it will allow your school to have all its children learning about active global citizenship.

What is the view of your children on bullying, or safety on the streets, or healthy food, or Fairtrade, or energy use, or travelling to school, or play… The optimum way of finding our and expressing these views is through policy making – this allows all children to take part, learn about the process and express their views.
