These pictures were taken by children who worked and lived on the rubbish
dumps of Guatemala City.

They made money for their families by collecting from the dumps anything
they could sell, this meant they had no time or money to go to school.
Since 1991 they have been trained to take pictures by an international
newspaper photo journalist, Nancy McGirr. With the money they make from
selling their pictures they can afford to go to school and buy school
books.
Tower Hamlets paid them to take these pictures. They were asked to take
pictures that show children's rights.
